Supervision and training

Supervision at Kindred is for psychologists working with children, teenagers and families, including neurodivergent young people. Supervision is collaborative and reflective, focused on developing your thinking rather than just working through cases.

It may include:
• clinical formulation and treatment planning
• autism and ADHD assessment
• educational and cognitive assessment
• differential diagnosis
• report writing
• neurodivergent-affirming practice
• working with parents, schools and multidisciplinary teams
• ethical and professional issues

Dr Andrew Frankland is a Psychology Board of Australia-approved supervisor and provides supervision for psychologists completing relevant registrar and supervised-practice pathways.

We provide professional development for schools, early-learning services, psychologists and other professionals. Training is designed to translate research and clinical knowledge into something you can use in everyday practice.

Topics we've covered to date include:
• understanding autism and ADHD
• neurodivergent-affirming practice
• supporting regulation and participation
• anxiety, avoidance and school attendance
• learning difficulties
• the science of reading, writing and maths
• understanding cognitive and educational assessment
• supporting neurodivergent children in early-learning and school settings
• working collaboratively with parents and multidisciplinary teams

Professional development can be tailored to the needs of a school, service or professional group, and delivered as a staff meeting, workshop, extended training session or consultation program. Our goal is not to hand over another list of generic strategies. We aim to help participants understand why difficulties occur, recognise the demands being placed on the child, and identify changes that can actually stick.
